Mid-Michigan Clothesline Project: A clothesline will display shirts that have been made by survivors of sexual assault. By hanging their pain out in the open, survivors reject any feelings of shame they may have had; a symbol of the lifeline that can and must be created when survivors join together in support of each other.
Silent Silhouettes Display: Life-size wooden silhouettes of women and children with a plaque telling the story of how they were murdered due to domestic and/or sexual violence.
Poster Making: An opportunity to make posters in preparation for the March from Beaumont Field to 54-B District Court.
Speak Out: An Open Mic opportunity to let your voice be heard in speaking out about sexual violence! "Break The Silence, End The Violence"
Men's Forum (men's space): A round-table discussion for men to talk about how sexual assault has affected the women in their lives and/or discuss sexual assault in general, it's affect on men, and men's role in supporting survivors.
Candlelight Vigil (women's space): A safe space for those that identify as women to tell their stories and join together in support of each other.
Pre-March Ralley : Dr. Nandi S. Crosby is an associate professor of Women's Studies and Sociology. As the author of the new release, "If My Soul Be Lost: A Self Portrait," Dr Crosby has worked, unabashedly, for more than ten years resisting sexist oppression, sexual violence, and all forms of supremacy. She currently volunteers with prisoners teaching life skills and strategies for self-empowerment, and has taught more than 20 different university courses in the last eight years. Dr. Crosby's research in Black feminist thought, third wave feminist movement, and prisoner justice has contributed significantly to young women's esteem and sense of agency.
