 About The Listening Ear

Our services are completely confidential.  Whatever you have to say will stay between you and your counselor.  All of our volunteers sign non-disclosure agreements; not even friends or family can request information about your call.

To further protect your confidentiality, all calls are completely anonymous.  No one will ask for your name, and we do not have Caller ID to find out who you are.

The Listening Ear has never charged for any of our services.

We will not judge you because of your problems.  We will not try to tell you that your problem is not important.  We will treat you problems seriously and try to help you find the solution that is right for you.

Our volunteers receive 1000 calls a month from people of all ages, social backgrounds, and ethnic groups, and are trained to deal with a wide variety of crises, including:

  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Sexual assault
  • Suicide
  • Depression
  • Information or referrals
